    Description

Found at a flea market (brocante) in northern France near the Brittany coast, a charming oval shaped antique/vintage galvanized zinc fishing bait or fish carrier/creel; circa 1930s. Lid with holes for fresh air slides open so you can easily get to your bait or small fresh fish.  The interior is very clean (no rust) and watertight. In excellent vintage condition, with no cracks or dents.  Some rust on the handle and side brackets; mineral/water deposits along the bottom edge. Lovley aged patina; we have left as found. Loop in handle to hang up when not using. These type of galvanized zinc creels/bait carriers were used by French fishermen instead of the more common wicker creels or metal bait buckets used in the USA. A fun collectible for the fisherman!
    Also perfect as a
    planter
for succulents; leave the lid open, fill with moss and dirt, add a small succulent! Wonderful aged patina.
Measures 11 inches long; 6.5 inches wide and 5.75 inches tall/deep.
    Shipped within the USA only.
