This cigarette dispenser is unique and crisscrosses into several highly collectible categories:  1) folk art  2) pyro wood craft  3) primitive  4) tobacco, cigarettes, Tipparilo/cigar collectibles  5) mechanical operatives  6) dispensers
DESCRIPTION:  This is a handcrafted burro dispenser.  The colorful pyro (woodburning) artwork is complemented with an untouched patina.  The pyro top for the cigarettes is stained in colors with flowers on one side and "CIGARETTES" is written on the other side.  The base is highly "burnt" with a uniform surround lining the outside; likewise, around the open cutout for a "choice-of-your-own" ashtray; and a picture of homes and trees in Mexico; "Colorado" and "Canary" are burnt above and below this picture.  NOTE: the beautiful c 1920's hand painted maroon/green/red/yellow flower over copper ashtray is from Crete and will be included with your purchase.
DISPENSING MECHANISM:  The front, tall, right ear pulls down, triggering a strong (inside the head) metal lever (photo #5) which has a sturdy metal arm etending to a 1-1/2" wooden block that propels forward to the bottom-most resting cigarette which shoots out the donkey's ass raising the tail.
