    Description

    Imperial Heavy Grape Carnival Glass Large Chop Plate, Marigold
    Large, heavy chop plate. Sharply molded grape cluster design over a stippled background in the center, with a soft quilted diamond effect around the scalloped outer rim. The back of the rim has a molded fluted design, and the base has a starburst. Beautiful bright multicolor iridescence, with lots of pink and green, and a satin effect on the outer rim. Original classic period carnival glass. Imperial introduced their original carnival glass around 1910.
    Condition:  No chips or cracks. A bit of roughness along the edge in one small spot, hard to capture in photograph. Iridescence is in excellent condition, with just a few small scratches in one area.
    Marks:  Unmarked.
    Dimensions:  1 1/4" high, 11" wide.
    Color Note: Some pictures are taken with a black background to highlight how the color of the iridescence of carnival glass can change in appearance depending on background color. Both the white and black background photos were taken under the same lighting, only the background color was changed. How the iridescence will look in your home will depend on your unique background colors and lighting conditions.
