Description

A bookbinders hammer, also known as a backing hammer, is the traditional model used by professional bookbinders. It has a dome shaped head used to round the spine and a claw end without a notch that is rounded smooth. The claw helps shape the ridge and shoulder during the backing process.
The English bookbinders hammer has a forged steel hammer with a round dome face. The head is approximately 1.5" in diameter and length is 10". It weighs 1.25 lbs.
