    Description

    This is a beautiful Antique Seated Wood Buddha Figure from Thailand.  This piece was purchased in Bangkok in the late 1960's / early 1970's by my father who was an antique dealer in Penang, Malaysia at the time.  Please note the elegant & atypical facial features as well as the closed eyes.  Hands are in the Dhyana Mudra position.  In my experience, I have not seen many examples of this particular type.  The flame and sloped earlobes are completely intact with no damage.  There is a rectangular slot on the bottom of the figure confirming the piece could easily be mounted on a standalone base (see Picture #11 & #12).
